Angelo’s Road to Recovery
Story
Help Angelo Heal After Bone Marrow Transplant
Over the holidays, Angelo — known to many as Jinx — was diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome), a rare and serious form of bone marrow cancer.
He bravely completed five months of chemotherapy and was admitted to Yale New Haven Hospital on May 14th, where he remains after receiving a bone marrow transplant. We are incredibly grateful to his youngest brother, Joe, who turned out to be a perfect match and selflessly stepped in as the donor.
The transplant went smoothly, and if all continues to go well, Angelo may be able to return home by mid-June. But once he’s home, the real healing begins.
Angelo will be in isolation for several months as his immune system slowly rebuilds. He’ll follow a strict diet, avoid most social contact, and unfortunately won’t be able to return to work for the foreseeable future.
His strength, resilience, and unwavering positive spirit have inspired us every step of the way — but this next phase is just as challenging. Recovery includes intense medical follow-ups, strict routines, and many unexpected expenses.
How You Can Help:
We’ve created this page to support Angelo during this crucial time. Your donation will help cover:
Post-transplant medications and ongoing care
Immune-safe meals and essential home recovery supplies
Medical travel and follow-up appointments
Living expenses while Angelo is unable to work
Every contribution — no matter the size — makes a meaningful difference. It gives Angelo the time, space, and peace of mind he needs to focus fully on healing.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has already reached out with love and support.
Thank you for standing with us and being part of Team Angelo!
